Before moving to Vietnam, I was so energized when I came to know that the country has a full one week break during Chinese New Year, called Tet Holiday locally. Naturally, the very first thing that came to my mind was to travel, not within the country because I have heard many times that everywhere will be densely crowded, but rather to travel overseas. And it should be somewhere worth 9 days! But where? That time, I was so confused. Travel back to Philippines? Maybe Bali? Or perhaps Japan? What about … uhmm Korea? Nah, there is no time for visa application. This is the first time for me to go on vacation for 9 long days.

Bali won because it was the nearest and easiest place to go to. I am a bit familiar now with the Southeast Asian countries. Plus, Bali is the last stop I would have in Indonesia and then I can gladly say that this country is completely over for me. Indonesia is one of those I have visited several times and I have put Bali last because it is the most expensive. Obviously.

It was also in this trip that I tried Airbnb for the first time. We booked one night in Sepang, just near the airport, in Kuala Lumpur and it was an awesome house with an accommodating host, too. I am beginning to really like this Airbnb concept!

Watersports at Benoa Nusa Dua
- Total Fee: ~170 USD Total for 5 Watersports

Our first day was a blast! We completed 5 water sports and had lunch at 4 PM. We were so hungry but managed to ignore it because we were just having tons of fun! Parasailing, the first sport we did, was new to me and happy to tick it off of my list. I have always wondered how it feels like to do it. Now, I know. My Dad likewise enjoyed it so much.
The second water sport was Flying Fish, also new to us. For this activity, I was more amazed by the guides or I would call them ‘balancers’ of the raft. They can skillfully balance the raft so that we won’t topple over, twist, or spin as we float in the air for a few seconds. I find that more amazing than the ride itself.

Then we had the Donut Boat ride, which was the simplest one for us, next to Snorkeling. Like Banana boat, the speed boat pulled our raft and tried to swerve it from left to right as fast as it can. It also tried to do a 360 degree turn to add more thrill to the ride.
Snorkeling is almost always available in places with beaches, and so is in Bali. Having visited Palawan in the Philippines, I did not find a lot of fishes or corals where we were. I was just as if I was testing my camera underwater. Lastly, we rode the Jet Ski. It’s one of our favorite activities because we were the drivers, full throttle. Yeah right, I was scared to do that. And still am.

Bali seems like a great city to visit. will you be doing a similar tour in 2018?
Yeah, Bali is a great place for waters, temples, and land sightseeing. I would probably do a similar tour but in another place, like South Korea. 🙂 How about you?
