Telaga Waja River Rafting, by Alam Rafting Tours

  • Fee: 350,000 IDR (~26 USD)
Falling
Wait for it…
Rafting Fall
The effect of that quick drop. Splash!

Our last day was again full of fun! I have done rafting in the past and this was one of the best. Why? Because this one had the steep quick drop that we were not aware of at the beginning. But it was all worth it! I love surprises.

Under Waters
We went under a very small falls…

After inducing ourselves with pain from the ATV experience, we added more pain from this activity, most especially for my dad who was not used to adventures like these but he said he enjoyed everything. The rafting, for me, was not so typical.

Under the Bamboo
We also went under a couple of low-lying poles. Look at Dad doing an acrobatic move! Come on, Dad!

Besakih Temple

  • Entrance Fee and Tip: 34,000 IDR (~2.50 USD)
Entrance
Our guide at the entrance of the temples.

Besakih is the most important, the largest, and holiest Temple of Hindu Religion in Bali. No wonder, we spent a great deal of time in this temple due to its vastness. Unlike all the other temples we have been to, this can be compared to an immense park of temples. As far as I can remember from our guide, the entire temple is divided into 3 parts for Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.

Stair to Main
First flight of stairs to take to enter the main grounds.

We went around the main sections of the temple in spite of the rain since it was nearing nightfall. There were a lot of structures, stairs, and sculptures. I liked the effect of the stone stairs, stone pillars, and brick walls.

Stone Stairs
I specially like these stone stairs leading to the main grounds.

Perhaps due to the rain and because of the time, there were less people visiting the temple. We almost had it all to ourselves.

Looking Back
The view from the top of the stone stairs facing the entrance.
Besakih 1
Just one of the many temples in the vast Besakih temple grounds.
Spacious
The spacious grounds of Besakih Temple.
Wall
The decorated walls dividing the temples into sections.
Name
Each section has a name plate like this.
Besakih 2
More temples, small and big alike, within the same vast Besakih Temple grounds.
Besakih 3
Close up shot of one of the temples, with dragons in front.
2nd Stone Stairs
Second set of stone stairs leading to the main Besakih temple.
Besakih 4
We got deeper and deeper into the temple grounds, more structures like this.
End
Perhaps we reached the end of the temple grounds.
Exit Main
We were on our way out from the main section of the vast Besakih temple grounds.
Temple Overview
We passed by these temples and went on to higher grounds.
Great Wall
I found this great wall interestingly old and rich in history.

If anyone wants a very relaxing holiday, Bali is your choice. We stayed here for 9 days, left around 9 AM daily (except during the day we watched the dolphins) then we were back in our accommodation around 6 PM on the average. I would probably recommend 4-5 days at best to do and visit the main areas.
