Da Lat, Vietnam

Flower Arrangement
The flowers were neatly arranged to attract customers.

Da Lat warmly welcomes every year with beauty, fragrance, and coolness. Me and my friends decided to do something during new year to take advantage of the very few holidays Vietnam has. We had 3-day holidays so we thought that was enough. However, December was obviously a busy period because of the Christmas season (as I was also in the Philippines) that we were not able to book tickets earlier. Thus, we were only able to purchase January 1, 11 AM ticket bound to Da Lat and January 3, 7 AM return. Argh, such a tight schedule. But that is fine.

I plotted the places we would target to maximize our stay and I would say it was pretty much a productive short vacation.

Flowers
Da Lat is known for cool climate and colorful flowers.

With just one full day for tour, we visited the places below. Overall, we rented a taxi for 4-5 hours for 400,000 VND (~20 USD) to visit the first 3 places.

Lang Biang Mountain Peak

Russian jeep fee: 300,000 VND (~15 USD)/jeep fitting max of 6 people

I chose this place first because apart from it being the farthest, it boasts a magnificent view of the mountains from above. I just love panoramic views and landscapes. It takes 30-40 minutes travel time, around 10 kms, from Ho Xuan Huong Lake, the center.

Important Tip: It is best to go in the early morning when there are not a lot of people crowding the counters. There is currently no good queueing and payment system so you would end up squeezing with other people to secure your jeep. We were there around 8:30 AM.
