Fort Cornwallis
- Entrance Fee: 20 MYR/head
Fort Cornwallis is the largest standing fort in Malaysia built in the late 18th century. My Dad loves history so visiting forts is a must when we travel.

United Buddy Bears
Outside the fort was a field with bear statues, called United Buddy Bears, following a circular pattern and were painted with colorful and different designs representing each country’s symbol or signature. It was a beautiful sight and it really caught our attention.
The bears promote tolerance and understanding among nations, cultures, and religions. These bears were on a world tour so it was a temporary display until the end of October when we were there. Perfect timing for us!
This reminded me so much how important it is not to judge anyone by their race, color, or culture.

Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower
Also called the Jubilee Clock Tower, the tower stands 60 feet with 1 foot for each year of Queen Victoria’s reign. The clock tower is slightly tilted as a result of the bombing during World War II.
We passed by this tower when we were on our way to the pier to buy our Langkawi ferry tickets. This tower is also just outside Fort Cornwallis. This concluded our day and it was time to rest and recharge ourselves for the next day’s Street Art hunting.
