Kek Lok Si Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. We took bus #204 from the Penang Hill Train station, which was just 1.40 MYR. We walked for a few minutes passing by stairs and walkways with a lot of shops selling souvenirs, clothes, crafts, religious items, etc.

The paths have signs so it was not so hard for us to find where the temple is. We passed by areas that were under construction and we saw tons of turtles resting under the hot but wet weather.

And then finally, we arrived at the largest temple in Malaysia. Kek Lok Si means “Heavenly temple”, “Pure Land Temple”, “Temple of Supreme Bliss”, or the “Temple of Paradise.”

It was a good climb and we were able to see a section of the city from the top. We took bus #204 again back to Georgetown, the center of Penang to explore the Penang Time Tunnel Museum that will bring us back to old times.
