When I was writing about our Nara trip, I realized how deer are important to the Japanese, as they serve as messengers of the gods in the Shinto religion. And in Miyajima, the deer are likewise freely roaming around the place and they were very accustomed to the people.
It was already the second time for one of my cousins to visit the island, thus, he had some idea what to do there. One of which was the rental of a heavy armor for photo opportunities. My other cousin then went on to try one of the steel, klang klang, heavy outfits. So fierce! He and the other model warrior simulated a fight scene to … test the armor against the sword? In fairness, they looked tough!
We had our lunch also in the island to save time looking for eating places back in Hiroshima. Overall, the servings were huge for my size but I still tried to finish them all (because anyway, I needed it in all the lengthy and crazy runs we performed).
We boarded the next ferry back to Hiroshima to reconcile with our Japanese friend my cousin would call Ojisan.
