Osaka Castle

It was like finding a treasure as the Osaka Castle was buried deep in the park. We were required to walk 1.5 kilometers from the train station which was around 20 minutes. It was a fine walk because the park was very relaxing to see and feel.

Park Fountain
This fountain greeted us while we were searching for Osaka Castle.

Because we were already tired from all the hustle in the morning, we wanted to rent bikes after seeing a lot of people cycling around. Japan is indeed perfect for cycling. We continued walking but we did not find any rental shops until we reached our destination.

This Way
The sign said this way. We were discussing of renting bikes from this point as we knew that we would be having a good long walk. But we ended up walking.
Fountain from Behind
The fountain from behind. Not a lot of people around.
Christmas
These trees reminded me of Christmas, not that we set this kind of tree up at home but, you know, in the movies.
Moats
Japanese temples or castles seem to always have been surrounded by moats. Just like the Imperial Citadel in Tokyo.
Stairs
I wanted to believe that these stairs would lead to a shortcut to the treasure, the Osaka Castle. Crossing fingers…
Birds
These birds watch over that building 24/7. Nope, that was not the Osaka Castle yet. We thought the same. That’s the Osaka Guest House.
Walls
The Osaka Castle must be behind these impressive stone walls? It should be.
Cutdown Tree
What happened to this tree? It could have served as another protection for the castle as I imagine it to be tall.
Museum
The sign said Museums but the photos refer to different set of buildings. Now I wonder what this could be then.
Treasure
There you are Osaka Castle! Finally, we found you.
Closer
Let us take a closer look at the Osaka Castle.

The castle was close to how a temple looked like, but with utmost elegance and located on a high place. We sat for a while when we reached the castle because it could be another 1.5 kilometers back to where we came from or by looking at the entire area, there should be another train station somewhere, not just sure if it was nearer or not. I always prefer another way back if there is.

Exterior
There was a bit of a queue to get in but we were just interested in its exterior.
Side
We were looking for the exit while passing by the side of the castle.
Wall View
So this was what we saw from behind the stone wall.
High
The Osaka Castle high on a stone pedestal.
Exit
Whew, finally found our way out. We could see the city buildings again.
Boat Tour
A boat tour was available for those who wanted to check the perimeter of the Osaka Castle.

Due to the walks, we were a little hungry and the only options we saw were highly expensive ice cream and … and … what was the other one? I forgot already. ? It must be costlier than the ice cream because we opted for the ice cream.

Train
W-w-where’s the train station?

We used the guide maps along the pathways to check where the train station was and how far we were from it. When we were getting so near the train station, we passed by a wide space with  surprisingly a lot of people. I guess everyone goes to that place but I am not sure what was there as it was just a big vacant concrete space with some kind of monument or post in the middle (see photo below).

Closer to the train station, we saw groups of people performing along the side of the pathway. Most were having their own little concert in their own corners. And then we met a lot of pairs of girls, as if twins, wearing exactly the same outfit, accessories, and props. Cosplay? Maybe. But they really didn’t have colored hair (?).

Couple Dresses
It was in this place, which was near the train station, where we saw a lot of pairs of girls wearing the same clothes, accessories, and props.
